Frequently asked questions

What is GPSR and who does it affect?

The EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) applies since December 2024. If you sell products to EU buyers, your listings generally need a manufacturer, an EU Responsible Person (if you're outside the EU), safety warnings, and traceability info.

How does the AI auto-fill work?

Pick your products and Guardfill drafts the safety text — warnings and usage instructions. Your manufacturer and EU Responsible Person aren't AI-generated; you assign them once in Setup and reuse them. You review every draft and approve before anything is published.

Does anything publish without my approval?

No. AI drafts are review-before-publish — nothing reaches your store until you approve it.

What's the difference between AI auto-fill and Watchtower?

Auto-fill makes products compliant once. Watchtower keeps them that way — it runs automatically and alerts you the moment a product is missing GPSR data (a new product, or an edit that strips it).

How does translation work?

Guardfill translates your GPSR info into every language your store publishes, using Shopify's native translations. EU buyers automatically see warnings in their own language — no theme code.

Do you store my customers' data?

No shopper personal data is collected or stored — only product/compliance data and your shop info.

What happens if I uninstall?

GPSR data already written to your Shopify product metafields stays on your products. Guardfill's stored copy is permanently deleted.

How is pricing counted?

An AI action = one product auto-fill, or one product translated into one language. Manual editing, bulk-assign, CSV, the storefront block, and Watchtower are always free. Plans: Free (15 one-time trial), Starter $19 (1,500/mo), Growth $49 (5,000/mo).
